WINE GOES TO JAZZ!
The Znojmo JazzFest continues for the seventeenth year, bringing famous jazzmen from all over the world to Znojmo. You can look forward to a unique performance by excellent musicians who are dedicated to both the traditional concept of jazz and its offshoots such as blues, Latin, funk or soul. Of course, everything is pleasantly coordinated with tastings of delicious wines from Znojmo winemakers under the motto: “Wine Goes To Jazz”.

JAZZ WEEKEND IN CLUBS: PATO & LUMOS (CZ)
Pato (Patrik Šudák) is a Czech singer and songwriter who formed the musical group Lumos around himself. Together, this group forms a multi-genre project that plays Pat’s original work. In 2024, the band released a debut EP called Pod hladinou, which contains 4 tracks – Hvězda má, Studánečka, Pod hladinou and Spíš splák. Their music emphasizes the singing melody and space for self-expression of each musician. Come to their concert to soak up the positive energy that their performance will surely give you.
Jazzový víkend v klubech: SEBRANKA JAZZ ORCHESTRA (CZ)
SEBRANKA jazz orchestra is a “collection” of musicians from Dačice, Brno and the surrounding area. Dance and modern jazz, swing, Latin-American melodies, but also arrangements of world rock hits and popular songs from the 80s to the present make up the repertoire of this group.
Jazz weekend in clubs: LATINO SWING DANCE PARTY
DJ MACKIE MESSER shined as the captain of dance cruises on the theater ship of the Forman brothers or the soul of swing dance halls in Werich’s villa in Prague’s Kampa. Radio 1 broadcasts his world music session “All the Music of the World”. For the January dance evening in Znojmo, he is preparing a colorful swing & bass dance party seasoned with Latino funky carnival. His performance will be accompanied by the great jamming saxophonist PETR JANDA.
Jazz weekend in the clubs: JAZZ DO KAPSY (CZ)
An excellent Znojmo acoustic formation consisting of a female singer accompanied by a guitar and a tenor saxophone. They mainly play swing popular music from the first half of the 20th century, but also Czech authors such as Kamil Běhounek or Josef Kainar.
Jazz weekend in the clubs: TONDA VIDLÁK QUARTET (CZ)
A jazz band that has been playing in Czech since 2020. Currently, it prefers original compositions by its bandleader Antonín Vidlák. In addition to them, he also interprets contemporary compositions by jazz musicians such as Chick Corea, Chuck Magione, Clifford Brown, Zbigniew Namyslovski, Paul Desmond and the groups Spyro Gyra or Apple Tea.
The band builds on the richness of the harmony, on an almost acoustic sound, although it interprets some compositions with the sound of an electric piano. Bandleader Antonín Vidlák alternates alto saxophone and soprano saxophone. His compositions are based on knowledge of standards and tradition, but belong to modern jazz, jazz rock, or pop jazz. The author captures his experiences and life feelings in them.
Hetty Kate: All about Jazz (AUS/CZ)
The charismatic and technically gifted singer living in Paris has released nine albums and graced club and festival stages from New Zealand to New York. A true frontwoman and entertainer on stage, her natural musicality and vocal clarity ensure her voice is instantly recognisable. Hetty’s approach honors jazz composers by sticking to both the melody and the lyrics, and if she does use improvisation, it’s always in a way that never takes anything away from the song’s story.
Večer swingového tance: Joker´s band (CZ)
Anyone can really come! You will have fun, whether you are in a couple or not. You can just listen to the music or get actively involved on the dance floor. And it really doesn’t matter if you can dance to swing music or not, you’ll definitely learn something new.
Stefano Ronchi Band (IT/CZ)
Stef Rosen is a guitarist and singer of Italian origin (Stefano Ronchi) who lives in Berlin and is considered one of the most innovative and original blues players to appear in Europe in the last decade. His way of composing, playing and arranging is inspired by both the electric blues of the 70s and the wooden acoustic blues of the late 20s. Stef looks at the tradition of this music with a very personal and genre-respecting approach.
The Jujubes (UK)
One vocal, one blues harp and two guitars are what makes The Jujubes authentic yet unique blues sound. Sandy, Nikki and Pete make up the trio based in South East London via Scotland, Nottingham and Hackney. Born out of a passion to keep this genre alive, The Jujubes on their debut album have chosen eight songs from childhood memories of discovering the blues and three originals, recorded in their living room.
With only the desire to create something that felt right and felt good, The Jujubes hope that listening to this album will remind you of the Willie Dixon quote “The Blues are the roots and the other musics are the fruits”.
This album is great to listen to something that reminds you of how the raw simplicity of blues and how it can be carried forward and all of this style of music isn’t just left in the archives of time (Ben Darwin – Blues from the Ouse)
Los Quemados (CZ)
Los Quemados met for the first time in 2008 and since then they have been playing in almost the same line-up, led by bassist Filip Spálený. From the beginning, the band is focused on the fusion of jazz, funk and Latin American music, with a purely original repertoire. Not only Filip Spálený is active as a composer, but also saxophonist Jakub Doležal. The keyboards of Jan Bálek are essential for the overall sound, and since 2023, the drums of Petr Mikeš have also been stable. Los Quemados regularly performs in Prague clubs, but also throughout the Czech Republic. He also has concerts in Germany, France, Slovakia and Bulgaria. Los Quemados have released four albums on the Hevhetia Records label, in 2024 the group starts working on a new repertoire for the fifth album.

Ivan Mládek a Banjo Band (CZ)
Czech music group led by Ivan Mládek, who founded it in the late 1960s. The band was always large and richly instrumented, with various string and percussion instruments, including exotic ones. Genre-wise, it straddles the borders of country, tramp, jazz (or Dixieland), brass and pseudo-folk music. He plays his own songs, mostly from Mládek’s workshop.
Elisabeth Lohninger Band – Queen Goes Jazz (US)
After the successful jazzing of The Beatles songs, Walter Phischbacher comes with jazz transcriptions of the best pieces of the Queen group, led by Brian May and Freddie Mercury. This time the project will be vocal, using the vocals of Elisabeth Lohninger, which will give it another dimension…
Peter Lipa & Gast: Lash & Grey (SK)
The most important personality of the Slovak jazz scene, Peter Lipa, will this time team up with Lash & Gray (real names Kristína Mihaľová and Jakub Šedivý), a Slovak musical jazz-soul duo. The music of this Bratislava group creates an intimate and warm universe reminiscent of Norah Jones, Etta James or Billie Holiday. With jazz and soul influences, but timeless charm. For the album Sleepin’ With The Lights On (2020), they won the best debut at the Radio_Head Awards and the best Slovak album at the Anděl Awards.
Mr. Lovo (CZ)
The band was formed in 2020, when a bunch of friends got together who had been looking for themselves musically for some time. The resulting formation Mr. Lovo was the result of their common love for experimentation, improvisation and an open approach to music creation. From the initial cover versions of songs by well-known jazz rock / fusion and funk artists, they developed their own creative expression and began to compose their own music.
If the listener is curious, an unusual musical experience awaits him. Colorful musical nooks and crannies abound with musical puzzles that Mr. Lovo helps to solve with a result that may surprise the ear, but fortunately only a nice, relaxing and harmonious resolution.
Although each member of the band represents an absolutely unique creative force, they all fit like bricks into the mosaic that is Mr. Lovo’s face.
Michele Biondi Band (IT)
Michele Biondi is an Italian blues singer, songwriter and electric guitar player from Ripafratta, Tuscany. He has toured extensively in the US and Europe and released three solo albums. His second album “Cotton & Moonshine” received rave reviews in Europe and the US for his completely unique take on traditional blues. Michel’s blues career is wide and varied, performing at festivals such as “Natchez Mississippi Celebration” (USA), “Hambone Mississippi Festival” (USA), “British Blues Festival” (UK), “Lugano Blues Nights” (Switzerland), “Lucca Blues Festival” (Italy) and many more… From 2015 until the covid epidemic, Michele Biondi has traveled a lot around the world and has made important connections and collaborations with many American and British blues artists such as Ray Cashman, Rachelle Coba and Stan Street.
Viklický & Hrubý (CZ) – Between us
In August 2020, EMIL VIKLICKÝ and PAVEL HRUBÝ met in the Czech Television Music Studio in the Kavčí hory to record the album “Between Us”. It was then released on December 30, 2020 on the Amplión Records label of sound magician Alexej Charvát. The carefully designed title is decorated with a cover painting by world-renowned artist Jiří Anderle. The novelty Between Us unusually combines the piano with the bass clarinet and is proof of the extraordinary harmony of two different jazz generations. The album contains 12 songs, of which 11 are original compositions by both protagonists.
Ramblin’ Preachers (UK)
Ramblin’ Preachers (UK) aka The Traveling Preachers and their Flying Circus! Retro and modern sounding blues rock band. In their latest record “Better Than Me” they were inspired by more modern rock bands like “KALEO” where they mixed popular music with classic blues-rock.
