Stefano Ronchi Band (IT/CZ)
Stef Rosen is a guitarist and singer of Italian origin (Stefano Ronchi) who lives in Berlin and is considered one of the most innovative and original blues players to appear in Europe in the last decade. His way of composing, playing and arranging is inspired by both the electric blues of the 70s and the wooden acoustic blues of the late 20s. Stef looks at the tradition of this music with a very personal and genre-respecting approach.
Event description
Stef has performed in blues clubs, festivals and blues dance events all over the world, from New York to Seoul, as a solo artist and with various bands. In 2017, he joined the European tour of Tony Coleman, who for more than twenty years has drummed with many blues legends such as or were Albert King, Albert Collins, Etta James, Ruth Brown and the king of the blues himself: B.B. King.
Stef’s latest recordings have received rave reviews across Europe and awards on the international blues scene. In 2019, his record “Soul Mining” was nominated in Germany for “Best Album of the Year”, alongside blues giants such as John Mayall, Watermelon Slim, Joe Bonamassa and Walter Trout. Stef also works as a sound engineer and producer at Fuzznote studio in Berlin. In 2020, he won the “album of the year” award for his mixing and mastering work on the recording “Unknowable Journey”. His last album “Soulify” was released in 2022 and was again nominated for “best album” of the year.
