PHILOSOPHICAL CONCERT: IVO KAHÁNEK
A piano recital by Ivo Kahánek combined with a reflection by Marek Orko Vácha. Ivo Kahánek is preparing a program corresponding to the dramaturgy of this year’s festival. Marek Orko Vácha will accompany the concert with his words on the theme of all-embracing love.
Ivo Kahánek is a graduate of the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He also completed a study internship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and master classes under the leadership of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Christian Zacharias, Alicia de Larroch, Imogen Cooper, Peter Frankl and other personalities.

As an interpreter of extraordinary emotional power and depth, Ivo Kahánek has earned a reputation as one of the most impressive artists of his generation. He is considered a specialist in the interpretation of Czech music abroad. He is the recipient of numerous important awards, including the Prague Spring International Music Competition, the Maria Canals Piano Competition in Barcelona, the Vendome Prize in Vienna, the Stiftung Tomassoni Wettbewerb in Cologne, the International Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Marianske Lazne, and Concertino Praga.
