Martin Jakubíček was born in 1965 in Brno in the family of a musician. In the years 1980-86 he attended the conservatory, harpsichord and composition. He continues at JAMU, where he is heavily involved in improvisation. JAMU is represented at the J.S. Bach International Organ Competition in Leipzig and at the Prague Spring Organ Competition. He wins top prizes at the Interpretation Competition of the Czech Republic and SVOČ. He expands his knowledge at master courses in Millstadt, Austria. In addition to his solo concert activities (harpsichord, organ, hammer piano), Martin Jakubíček works as the artistic director of renowned chamber ensembles, as a founding member of ensembles dealing with the stylish interpretation of Renaissance and Baroque music.
