Concert of the Uherčice chateau: Heaven on Earth
Recently, Adam Plachetka likes to cross the boundaries of the world of classical music and ventures into musical areas unexplored by him. This time, he turns his interest to the repertoire of the Liberated Theatre. Charmed by the melodies of Jaroslav Ježek and the witty, spirited lyrics of Voskovec and Werich, he invited Ondřej Havelka and his Melody Makers to cooperate. A concert show is created in which the two artists, accompanied by a first-class orchestra, specialized in jazz, swing and dance music of the interwar period, will perform Ježek’s songs in all their genre diversity, so typical for the composer.
The bus departs from the municipal theater at 5:30 p.m. Return after the concert there.
Event description
There will be songs with unique echoes of jazz and swing (Tři strážníci, Ezop a brabenec), through originally conceived blues (Klobouk ve křoví,, Tmavomodrý svět) and lyrical love songs (Svítá, Když se usmívala), to brilliant, funny parodies (Holduj tanci pohybu, Láska zhrzená čili Na Poříčí dítě křičí). Twenty ageless pieces that have not lost any of their esprit, wit and wisdom to this day will be accompanied by the Melody Makers orchestra, which will change its cast and instrumentation to suit Ježek’s imaginative creations and forays into various styles and genres of popular music of the time as much as possible. The two protagonists, Mr. Plachetka and Mr. Havelka, will also perform the entire evening with words, and we believe that their dialogues will be as sparkling as the song lyrics of Mr. V+W.
